Born in 1928 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Fred Rogers was an ordained Presbyterian minister with a master’s degree in child development.  Children can expect to see reruns of the Neighborhood on TV for the foreseeable future.  The show has a year-to-year contract with PBS, but the service is negotiating for a long-term extension.  Currently, the show airs on 304 stations, reaching 96% of U.S. television households.  Mr. Rogers was 74 years of age.
