I t had gotten late and was begining to get dark. As I entered the forest under the shelter of the trees the light from the moon did not penetrate and I could only just manage to see the old knight from a distance. Fortunately, I could easily follow the plodding hooves of his horse as it moved further and further into the darkening forest.

None of the people in the village seemed to notice nor care that this once valiant old knight was going to end his life here in this forest in a small village that no one had ever heard of. Then I noticed there was no sound ahead, no sounds at all. The horse had stopped up ahead at a clearing in the forest.

When I crept closer I could see that the old knight had removed his armor and was just leaning back against a tree looking very very tired. Then it happened ...
