The man had stayed too long in the village. As he walked along the winding path that led to his home some distance away it had begun to get dark. The man knew that there were dangers for those who traveled on foot after dark but he wanted to return to the comfort of his home and his wife.

He heard the sound of something moving through the bushes. It was a hungry leopard and it was following him down the path. The man began to run. No man can run as fast or as far as a leopard but he believed that he must try and so he ran. He did not run as far as he had hoped. Running as fast as he was in the dark, he fell into a pit! As he fell his one foot became tangled in some vines and so the man did not fall to the bottom of the pit. He was suspended just below the edge by a few feet hanging upside down.
